Haverhill Brewery - Ascension
I'd like to thank the Haverhill Brewery for providing liquid relaxation during today's Patriots game in the form of Ascension, their Belgian style IPA.
Last night I Iogged into Ustream for an impromptu live broadcast of Belching Monkey. @schneidermike was discussing highly drinkable B-grade beers, such as New Belgium's Fat Tire. I think Ascension falls in that category. Nothing really blow me away with this beer but it's got a hint of spice, nice balance, and it goes down easy. Overall it was a nice distraction from watching Randy Moss make fresh poop sandwiches throughout the game.

Every Other Thursday Blog
A couple of weeks ago my friend Don Martelli asked me if I'd like to contribute to a new daddy blog he started with his friends. Don & I have gotten to know each other via Facebook & Twitter. We've shared a single phone conversation and have never met in person, but based on our families (he has 2 daughters and a wife he loves dearly just like me), our common interests (social media, Boston sports, photography, tech gadgets to name a few), and the fact he has a great sense of humor, I already feel like I've known him for years. So I'll be writing for Every Other Thursday at least once a week. I'm looking forward to the challenge of taking my own family experiences and trying to describe them in a way that other parents can understand and relate to. My co-contributors have varying backgrounds and kids of all ages, so there should be a great mix of perspectives. If you're interested in following along, please add us to your favorite reader!

Mike Vrabel's Sunny Disposition

Overheard on Tanguay & Zolak's 98.5 The Sports Hub show around 1:15pm today, as the hosts were discussing the merits of the Patriots' trip to London this weekend:
Zolak: The Patriots were going to play a preseason game in China, right?
Tanguay: Right.
Zolak: [Mike] Vrabel was a big fan of that one, wasn't he?
Tanguay: Is Vrabel a fan of anything?
For once Gary Tanguay's sarcastic tone was well-placed. Seriously, does any NFL player come off as more of a curmudgeon than Mike Vrabel?? No wonder Belichick traded him for a bag of footballs.
